how'd you get the scars you have

I have a scar from when I was 9 years old. I was helping my older brother cut some fire wood that was too long for the stove. He was on the chainsaw and I was setting the wood and holding it for him. On the last cut when he cut down I jumped in too quick to grab the logs and as he was coming back up with the saw it caught my leg and left two 3/4" wide gashed on my outer thigh. He told me not to tell Mom and we didn't. She saw it on my leg the following summer when I started wearing shorts. She freaked!! We made up some lie. I'm lucky it didn't get infected.

The other I have is on my left wrist. I was building a leanto barn for a horse. I was moving several sheets of corrigated galvanized sheet metal from the driveway to the barn with a wheel barrow. I wheeled up to a rock and stopped so I gave it a shove and the wheel barrow went but the steel slid back and put a 1/2" wide by 1" long gash on my wrist. I severed 2 nerves, a tendon and an artery. the top of my thumb still is tingley.

I have several others, but those are the biggest.

1. i have a scar on my left wrist from surgery to have a piece of metal removed from it. i was hitting a splitting wedge into an log, and the hammer i was using shattered the head. didn't relise i had a piece of metal in the wrist for 2 days [playing with some magnets and it stuck. just about I TRIED TO BY-PASS THE CUSSING FILTER myself then]



2. i have a very light scar on my right cheek from the doctors that delievered me at birth. i was born by c-sect. and the doc slipped.



3. i have 2 burn scars on my left inner elbow from a glob of molten metal from the smoke wrench. the glob landed on my coveralls and burned through. .



4. on my right hand ring finger, i have a small scar half way by the nail. circular saw ripped that open



5. again on the left [seem to have bad luck on that side] , hand this time, on the index finger, i have a scar that runs the entire length of the finger. that was from a dog bite. .



6. i have a piece of red clay brick imbedded in my left knee. tripped wheni was in grade 2 and landed on the edge of the bricks that were circling a tree on my neighbours lawn



that's all i can think of right now. .

Okay here goes:

1-When I was a yougum I was riding on the back of a bicycle barefoot and got my foot in the wire spokes. Cut my little toe off(left foot). My brother carried me back to the house,toe hanging by a piece of skin. Doctor just wrapped it back good and tight and it grew back. Not too straight but its there.

2-We were riding bicycles down this alley once and jumping the dirt at the end they had piled up from digging a ditch. Here I come down the alley as fast as I could go and hit the dirt. Bicycle goes straight up,I go up hit the ground like a rock. Bicycle comes straight down on top of me and hits my head. Had a few cuts.

3-Scar on finger from a knife when I was cutting some cardboard and it slipped and got my thumb.

4-Back when I was younger and foolish me and my brother-in-law got in a fight one night at his trailer. We rolled around inside,went through the door and we slid down the steps with me on the bottom on my back. Have a scar where my mother-in-law cut a piece of skin off that was hanging. Guess it did not heal quite right.

5-This should be before #3-Me and a friend were riding our Honda 50s down the street. I thought he was turning right and he thought I was turning left. We collided. Slid down the pavement and put my hand out to try and stop. Rocks and pavement chewed it up. I don't even remember which hand it was.

6-Some scars on my eyes when I had surgery,

7-Scar on right cheek when I had my wreck and hit the steering wheel(broke it)and went on to the windshield.

8-The best of all on my- back again(same side scars are on from sliding down concrete steps)from surgery when they found my stomach was comming up from the wreck(kept throwing up all the time. Finally got where I could not even drink water) I had when I hit tree and totaled 95 I had. I think I chipped my tooth on tree when it stopped me.

9-Wonder what kind of scars(where)Docs gonna have from his transformation?

Its getting late for me besides I can't remember any more. Maybe tommorrow.

I got most of my scars from BMX biking.

Funny thing is I had motorcycles since I was 7 yrs old, but all the scars are from bicycles.

I also have a good one on my left thigh. I was climbing off my trailer when I was an owner operator, and fell. Good part was there was a bolt sticking out of the frame to stop my fall. Kind of looks like I took some buckshot.

I have several others, but theyre just drunk stories.

Don't try this at home

Had a woman in a Furd Tempo pull out in front of me while i was doing 60mph. Kissed the steering wheel and put a 2. 5" long gash in my chin. I didn't even know I was hurt till someone asked if I was ok. I could stick my tunge through my chin. Totaled my 82 chevy too.



The other scar I got is from stepping on a 8" polebarn spike. It went all the way through my foot. Trashed a brand new pair of boots on that one.

Me knife watermelon ouch finger.

Got branded on right arm. Nice bug J. It was suppose to be a hook. When I was da kid we heated up an steel rod to bend it. Left it on the vise to cool. I come back a few minutes later to see what buddy was up too. Standing next to vise I accidently leaned into the hook. FRYYYY.

In 1939, I was riding in the rumble seat(for you young guys, look it up) of late 20's or early 30's Chev, when dad broad sided another car. I went through the rear window, and ended up inside the car; Still have the scar on my forehead.

Oh, yea, there are a few "ordinary" other scars accumulated over the past 67 years, but thats the most interesting one to tell about.

The best scar I have is probably one of the least noticeable. I had a 1" fencing staple go in my right eye. Was climbing a barb wire fence at the post in the horse pasture and I pulled myself up by the top strand. Staple came out flipped around and went straight into my eye. Funny thing it didn't hurt even when I pulled it out. Eye surgery wasn't what it is today in the sixties. Spent two weeks in the hospital after that surgery. I can even still see out of it not very well but some. Other scars include the normal stuff in addition to some 3rd degree burns on my leg when I caught my pants on fire once when I was kid(yes I was jacking with matches) and various scrapes from when I fell out of a car I was driving at 50 mph. Blacktop makes great coarse sandpaper.

*Two small scars under my chin from a shetland pony

*Scar over left eye from nail stiking out of a wood ladder

*Couple of pencil leads left over from Elem. & Jr. High School

*Long scar down the middle of my back from having 9" metal rods put in and taken out 6 months later, after a Bareback horse at a Rodeo flipped over backwards and doubled me in half, causing a T-10 burst fracture which paralized me from the waist down

*Missing left index finger due to a 40 caliber auto being shot at the wrong time in the wrong direction (all that stuff in movies about being shot and still going, don't buy it. mine was just a finger and on the 30 minute drive to the hospital I kept telling my buddy "did I mention this HURTS")

*Various burns on legs from a pizza pan, weedeater and 4-wheeler (can't feel when hot stuff touches em')

*Half a butt cheek gone from surgery for a pressure sore

*A small hole in my side from having kidney stones sucked out

*Numerous cuts and scrapes on hands and arms from knives slipping, wrenches not holding, etc. etc. .

1-right shoulder,fight with younger brother. He threw a drinking glass at me.

2-right foot,was swimming in a drainage pond on a construction site,stepped on a bottle. Dang near took my little toe off.

3-Arms and hands,too many too list. From many years as a diesel mechanic,busting knuckles,transmission gears can get mean too... . Doug
