I guess I should start here. I have been watching this site for a while and I finially decided to join. I am the proud owner of my truck since about last August. I am sold, I will never go back to a gas burner again. I have so many questions and so little time. I am not sure what the previous owner did to this truck, however, I am positive it is no longer stock. I will be killing the KDP soon as well as adding guages. I just wanted to say thanks in advance for all your help as well as thanks for a great website.

Nice truck, the 1998 12 valve. Ditching the K&N filter would be the first thing I'd do. They don't filter well enough for turbocharged engines.

Ditto on what Duluth DIesel said about the K&N. We got 3 of them (2 from customer svc @K&N) for Mom's and neither one of them filtered worth a cr@p. This was on a stock 160hp 1992. Dont want to think about what it would have done to my mildly BOMBed 91 (36psi). I had a post a cou0ple months back about the K&N "filter" and posted pics of the inside of the intake hose after only 10k mi; you'd almost think there was no filter. THe K&N on my ex's 6. 9 n-a Ford did ok up in the high country, but is is also sandier up there, too.

Welcome to the TDR. My pocket book is still suffering from my membership here. But I have also saved a ton in prevented wild goose chases and bad repair shop bills.
