Bad American

Couple of months ago, My wife and i walked away from a $699,000 house, only to fall into this place. Check it out www.peninsulaproperties.com/listings/listing_home.cfm/?property_ID=463279

We moved in about 3 weeks ago, are down to about only a dozen boxes to unpack and I still can claim that I'm in the mountains above HVAC. The only problem is that the Garage is only 20 feet long and the Ram doesn't fit. I guess I can now host a Ram Runners event. Bring the Paint.

A good reminder of why I don't live down in the Bay. Half a million more than my house cost, and slightly less room. And apparently enough of a great deal to close within a month.

Of course, last night's windstorm knocked out the power for a few hours, and it's starting to snow again. I noticed several homes on the market last spring, as soon as the meltoff happened. This winter I'm going to keep track of the Mercedes and Lexus SUV's I see in the ditches in the morning, see which ones have moved back to town by May. :D

Sorry! And you still have to paint it!? That same house in the Coeur d' Alene, Idaho area would be about $175,000! Not only that, you would be living in "God's country" and have a minimum of 5 acres of land!

That would only take me about 150 years to pay off with a $15,000 payment at the end of the 150 years.

I think I'll stay in Indiana my naighbor just sold his house for $300,000 and it had 20 acres and a garage big enough for his crewcab ford and a full size van, also a 10 stall horse barn. :) Kind of sounds like a bargan doesn't it. :D

I am glad I don't live in CA! :( But seattle is heading in the same direction (the next high tech silicon valley). :D I guess that is the price you pay for progress. Still 3/4 of a million bucks, ouch. Good luck on the new house and congradulations!:p Nice place though. I am in the process of buy recreational/retirement property in western OR. 160 acres of timberland with 2 year around creeks and lots of timber, all backed up on BLM land. We shall see. :D

Ram Runners Can't Paint A Lick!

Where is this new place of yours Ranger Dick? Are you between 84 & 92 somewhere or are you in the four corners area? Looks to be a nice peaceful setting. I don't see any kids in the picture:)

It looks nice... But I gotta tell ya, man... I live on far less than yer house payment :(

It looks like a really nice area, though. Is there a particular reason why you gotta live where it costs that much?

For $450,000 less, you could have had this in Texas. It is only 6 years old, and has around 3450 Sq/ft . I guess that's why they call california the land of fruit and NUTS. This house also has a yard :)

Thats a lot of money. You could have a mafia "godfather" type house here for less than that. On the bay with a jacuzzi, pool ,dock etc. etc.

My house is only worth about 150K. The new houses in my development are going for 300K.

I did a yahoo search for the term "shack" and this came up somewhere down the line a ways. I actually have no recollection why this image was on the 'net. I certainly can't see any value to it.
