I had everything go wrong on my Espar/Mopar kit install. The exhaust pipe didn't fit correctly, the engine mounted formed tubing didn't fit and I had to re shape it quite a bit and most of the hardware was incorrect for my truck even though the kit was the correct part number.

With that said, I love this heater!!! At zero F my cab is warm and the temp guage is registering temp in well under an hour. I am going to install a trickle charger soon though because I can see my wife running the batteries low while she is at work all day. I highly recommend the Espar unit.

I think either the Webasto or Espar are an excellent product, but they're too expensive for me to justify. Especially in this economy.

You just gave me an education. I didn't know things like that were available for our smaller trucks. The big rig community has all sorts of anti-idle equipment like that so I guess it stands to reason that someone should make it for us little guys, too. I think it's a great idea for those who use their trucks in ways that make this heater necessary.

I use a Webasto, and while I do admit it's somewhat overpriced, it's still well worth it to me as I need heat in the cab in the winter.

you sure it wasnt a 6. 7 or 5. 9 version on the wrong truck?

I'm with Ryan. I have researched the Espar and would love to use one up here in North Dakota but I can not justify the cost. I was just complaining to my bride last night that I was tired of not having a couple of bucks in my wallet for that whim cup of coffee. Such is life. I guess I'll have to keep waiting for that promised "change"... ... .

Positive. Espar and Chrysler verified I had the correct kit but when it came down to it, Espar told me that they were going to discontinue all of the hard piping for model specific engine applications and only use flexible heater hoses. They have had lots of issues in several applications related to fitment of hard piping. I still don't understand why they don't have self tapping bolts in the kit? Maybe they were supposed to but mine was just screwed up and put together on a Friday or something?

The wiring was really easy and the fuel system components in the kit were correct and very easy to install. I could have fabed up all the other stuff but I really liked the way it looks factory once completed.

This is the first winter that I've had my Espar and just love it. I got the complete kit from an outfit outside of Vancouver, BC and it was perfect. All the parts fit just right, wiring harness was correct length and so on.

Even though it was about $1100 or so (about 2 high end auto-starts), I'd much rather have the Espar than an auto-start. Cab is nice and toasty without having to idle the engine as much and use less fuel.

Highly recommended, especially for us "northern" boys :D:D.

The exhaust tube reaches to the back of the cab area. I never have noticed any diesel exhaust smell in the cab so far, as it seems to dissapate with a small breeze.

I've thought about tying it into the truck exhaust and may still look into it this summer.
