Wouldnt it be Great !!!!



Think about it ..... add a BHAF and just see whats changed ... . and be able to pass on valuable info also.



So Who whats to market it?

Hmm... . Possibly strain gauges on the motor mounts..... calibrated on a load dyno... . it would be rough at best but should be able to get you a ballpark number. Likely not good enough to show diffrences in things like intake/exhaust changes.

It can be done very easly with the drive shaft ;) In helicopters we have what was known as the supershaft (Drive Shaft) from the combining gear box to the engines. On each end of the supershaft there is a precesion cut gear. When in static mode (not turning) the gear teeth are aligned perfect with each other. When in motion the gear teeth are off-set from each other through the torsonal twist of the shaft as it rotates. There is a sensor over each gear that picks up the signal and then it is processed in to a Torque Figure that was displayed in the cockpit. The pilot knew how much torque each enging was putting out. This could be very easly done with a drive shaft and a gage in the cab. You would then be able to see how much torque you are applying/creating under load. I have a Roadrelay 4 installed that gives me Engine load in % and it comes in handy when I am towing. ;)
