Hi folks. I find this product interesting. I suspect complicated to use as an actual tuner unless provided a tune, but the scanner portion of the device seems to provide a nice graphical interface to engine sensors as compared to the relatively simple tuners I understand most are using. In addition, some one posted the below link of stock tune on early '04. I wonder if those in the know could post their thoughts about it ( e.g. fuel economy, durability, etc. )

Complicated and expensive. If you want a tuner with something usable off the bat the Smarty Touch is still the way to go. HP Tuners has a bad habit of failing the program thru the OBD port and messing up the ECM to where it takes a major effort to fix it, especially on the pre-05 trucks. For roughly the same cost you get the Smarty Touch with a gauges display, logging, real time tuning capability, and on the fly tune switching. A tune will cost you a little more unless the vendor is doing a package deal but still more than HPT is giving for the same cost.

Greetings: Just replaced failed Banks w/Smarty Touch last week. We're towing 5'er back home & if you don't mind saying, what SW setting did you use for towing & POD %. Also have the EGT to watch motor response negotiating grades thru TN & KY. PM me if you care to talk. Thanks much.
