HP Injectors

The dealer Bankston Dodge in Dallas says he can intall Bosch factory New injectors for $1800 that will give me 80-84 HP increase at the rear wheels. Diesel Dynamics is $800-1100 and Dr. Performance ... does anyone have any experience with any of these injectors? The dealer says if they put them in they have the 100K warranty and do NOT void the factory DC or Cummins warranty. HUMMMMMM?????

HOLY SMOKES>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> $1800? ... ... ... ... ... . NOT !

Price of Stage 1 injectors 800

install 100

where is the other 900 going? I think I'd buy a box first.

Is an injector install really that easy? Seems to me it would give me indigestion, worrying about getting any dirt in the fuel system.

AFAIK, there are no Bosch injectors to give that increase.

Installation is not a $100 job on the Echo engine, nor is it foolproof by any means.

DD Stage 2 give about 80 hp on the Dynojet.

Same question going over on the DTR. Apparently they are Dr. P injectors which some dealer is installing while claiming that the warranty will still be good. They get a couple of suckers on the line with this one every time. These are extrude honed bambam. They are NOT factory new Bosch injectors. The answer is the same over here as the DTR. Please call Bosch or DC and ask them since your apparently having a hard time believing us folks on the forum. You should get it from the horses mouth... Bosch does not have any official new factory extrude honed injectors that it is selling through Dr. P. Call DC and see what they say about these injectors and your warranty. As I said on the DTR, call Diesel Dynamics or another shop that you trust. You need guidance.

I talked to the service manager at Bankston and he told me they are using Dr Performance products and genuine Bosch injectors and warranty is not affected. They are putting this stuff on new ones on the lot before they are purchased also. He said the package including the Dr P box is $2500, or $1800 for injectors only, and no warranty issues. The reason I called him was to find out what they are using. I can't go along with the no warranty problem if you took it to another dealer with a problem. Also I have read too many bad reports on Dr Performance and their products and service, although I have not had any dealings with them. I told him he needed to look at the TDR site and see if there are any problems with warranty with these add-ons.

The extrude honing process is, by itself, invisible to the dealer. By looking with the naked eye, they cannot tell that the injectors are anything other than stock. Of course, the performance should betray that.

Also remember that the truck listed in your signature is an HO, which will make a good amount of EGT stock. If you add more than 65hp to it, or tow more than about 6000#, I would recommend a pryometer to monitor exhaust temps. With a stock turbo and more than 65hp, you are asking for problems.

I just got an email from Keith at Diesel Dynamics I will see what they have to offer. From Keith's post above he seems to know the subject. The $1800 that the dealer quoted seems real high. Eventhough he says the injectors are direct from Bosch... they can't cost that much with the core exchange. Or can they... anyway that's a lot of money for 80 HP.

One note on the warranty issue. If you purchase from said dealer and always go to that dealer for work and there is a warranty repair he is not going to tell DC that he modified your truck. So therefore when he submitts his warranty repair he will get paid. But what if you take it to anoher dealer ouyt of town or something???

Bet you ask a D. C. rep and he will tell you BULL CRAP. I've heard same bull over the years on different products. Nissan Turbo Zs etc. Reps always say YEA RIGHT with a grin and then says Factory NEVER warrantys someone else's products other then theirs. Had a shop YEARS ago tell folks that if they PAID them for a Turbo replacement that the FACTORY would reimburse them for the repair. REP meet some of these customers and said YEA RIGHT!. Told them to file in court on that shop. Dealer personal sounds full of you know what.

I think you are all correct. I think I will go with the DD injectors and their Box... sounds like the best thing. So when I go to the dealer just disconnect the box and everything looks stock.

Sign of the Scheister, he'll probably throw in some PolyGlycoat for only $300, and a "Security Chip" for only $450, or charge you $2500 to take it all out:eek:

Dealers that put crap on the trucks before they are sold should be shot!

don't know much about price of new bosh injectors, but just seen on ebay someone has new 03-04 ho bosh injectors starting bid is $1200 the auction # is #2450411996

also if I remember reading on here when these new engines first came out the injectors for the hpcr cost quite a bit more money than the older ones.
