Users of this model with the compressor wheel:

Does this version still suffer from the compressor surge? or fluttering?



Have you run the other smaller versions?

Also how is lag with this larger unit?

There have been reports of surge and/or fluttering, I have not experienced it. Only thing smaller I've run was the stocker and I'll never go back. Even this larger turbo spools nicely on a stock truck and with the fuel turned up there's hardly any diffrence.

I have rode in Scotts truck and the turbo spools and cools very good, I just cant say to much on the work to install it.



The B1-04 and the killer 64 share basically the same compressor wheel and housing, the only diffrence between the two are the turbine outlets and the B1 has a 15 cm housing. Also the elbow off the compressor housing where the charge pipe hooks up is also diffrent between the two where they come out.

I have the re designed compressor wheel in mine and it performs very well, but I towed my 20 ft Arctic Fox travel trailer for the 1st time over the weekend on basic straight aways and some rolling hills nothing extreme and at 70mph 1800rpm and 15psi of boost it does surge some what, get or keep it above 2000rpm and there is no problem, I was towing with my TST on 4x4 and my egt's were at about 680 deg. For every day driving and drag racing this turbo rocks and comes on quick and very strong with very good top end and cooling, I also had the original HTB2 and it is a incredible turbo but it would not keep up with my egt's. I would highly reccommend Paul at High Tech Turbo to anyone this is a top notch company. Mike

ken from turbo auto diesel (the maker of the b1)told me that the surge,flutter, on my b1 was caused by the tst box. he said other boxes don't have this problem.
what do you guys think. anyone with injectors and pressure box have surge issues??

killer B2

ive had the killer b2 with the 12 housing on my truck for about a week now and this turbo barks alot. im having some slight surging isuess when i hit OD. the turbo it awsome and had really brought my egts down. i used to be able to hit at leat 1500, now i can hit about 1380 and it climbs alot slower than before.
