southbend on ebay?

Can I get aFe service kit locally?

I haven't seen anyone post any towing results using the HTB2 turbo so I am posting mine. I just got back from my trip while towing a 5000 lbs boat over flat and rolling terrain. It's not a heavy load but enough weight to tell its back there. At 75 mph on level ground EGT's were 825 at 16psi. On hills I was seeing 900-1000 degrees at 30psi. EGT's never exceeded 1000 but I didn't push it past 75 mph and none of the hills were very long (Houston to Austin via I10 and 71). The box was left on 5x5 for the whole trip. Air temp was in the 90's and humidity was high.

I few side thing I would like to note. The transmission never down shifted and the TQ never unlocked. transmission temps never left the 150 mark and water temp never exceeded 195. You also get quite a few looks when you spin the tires at a stoplight while towing a large boat.

Yup, left about a 300 to 400 posi-shot with mine in tow... YES, a lot of strange looks!

BTW, that HTB2 is an awesome turbo!

Love mine also. Still haven't hooked up to the 3 horse slant to check towing but planning on it this weekend. This thing has very very little lag even with my stock injectors in. Incredible turbo in my book.

Where do you get an HTB2, is it an HX40 size or bigger? Obviously is it smaller than an HT3B, which is about HX55-60 size.

Thanks!

Thanks for the info, didn't know it was HTT that is selling them. How many horsepower are you guys running right now? I am at altitude (5000-10000', live at 6000') and would love the HTB2 for its additional air although right now I am only running a 120 HP Blue Chip box. I think Mach 2 EDMs would put me right about 450 HP which is where the turbo is good for (and more!). Seeing that I can smoke pretty well with my stock 35 and the box at this altitude, do you think the HTB2 would clean up the smoke yet allow similar spool up or will my spool up take a hit?

Feel free to answer but I did just call HTT and talked to Steve. He helped me with my questions! Thanks guys.

I should be in the 425+ hp range and live at 1000'. The only time I have a lot of smoke is when I get on it from a dead stop or going up hills at less than 50MPH in OD. I can't vouch for what it would do at your altitude but with your 5 speed it should be somewhat easy to control. The turbo starts spooling at 1200, kicks in around 1600 RPM and the spool rate from 5 PSI on up is about equal to a 35.
