I am thinking about upgrading to this turbo, but in the past i have heard of a lot of issues with the low boost code on the 04. 5 and newer trucks.

I had a sledpuller 66 for a short time that was a major PITA because of it.

Is this still a problem or has someone resolved this and has a fix?

The newer Smarty s/ws should take care of the low boost codes. Too much timing at low rpms slowes spool up and throws the code. I would get the 62/12 with its better spool up off idle and cooler cruising egts. I ran both.

I hope the new SW does something.

You really liked the 62/12?

I can pick up a 62/13 SS for a reasonable price, it has 10K on it.

I put a 62/12 on my truck right after I bought it and made almost 500 hp with the tst and va3. 1. I then changed the turbine housing to the 14cm and the only differance was less spool at the lower rpms and higher cruising egts. Still made almost 500 hp. I once got the low boost code with a Smarty s/w that had too much timing. I've been running 4. 4 and now tnt-r and haven't thrown a code with either.

That sounds good. I will talk with Rip about that today.

I would like to dyno 500HP someday, but more important I need to be able to tow. If I can't tow my travel trailer and 12,000lbs of hay the truck is worthless to me.

Did the new Smarty fix the problem?

I am running a 62/14 and am Getting the P0299 Code

I dont have a smarty and am wondering if that would fix the problem

I have the 62/13 (with smarty) and have never seen the code. I did go back to stock during my POD upgrade and didn't see a code there either.

it seems to happen only with the 14. if you want any type of dally driver and week end power the only way to get there is with twins

I've run a HTT62/14 for 100k+ with a Smarty no low boost codes 90% of the time its on level 3 with trailer in tow Thanks RIP Randy

I took My Quadzilla Boost fooler off and have not had a problem for over 2 months so the turbo is not the problem! Called Quad they said they have seen the problem before but mine is out of Warrantee (by 2 months) so tough luck. Glad to know a company I have been suggesting to my friends doesn't stand behind a product they know has problems

the turbo is the problem not the quad. the quad has circuitry that uses a zener diode to limit the voltage to 3. something volts that equals about 29 psi the comparator circuit is suppose to mirror the real signal to the 29psi cutoff and then flat line. the quad is off just enough to trip it more often. it will still trip with out it. i have never seen a 13 trip the p0299 code only the 14 i think you should go 12 or twins
