I would just like some input on trying to decide which one to go with. I have the old tried and true HTB2 62/12 and I want to upgrade to the new 71 series LDP model but cant decide if I should go up in compressor size to. Now when I tow 10,000lbs or so it is right at the edge of max egts 11-1200 pre turbo. And when I throw all the fuel at it ,155hp injectors and drag comp, it will get up to 1700 degrees pretty fast. I know that a 66 would probably be the ticket for drag racing but I am afraid it will be a pig to tow with. So is my dilema. Has anyone tried the a 62,64 or 66 LDP 71 series in a towing situation? If I can have the EGTs I have now towing and reduce my full power EGTs 200 degrees I would go for it. Thanks in advance.

I've tried the htb2 62/12, 62/14, 64/14 & I just installed the 62/24 LDP super stock turbo & it is by far the best for towing/driving. I wouldn't even try a 64 compressor for towing. The damn thing gets soooo hot before you get spoolup... It is uncontrollable. I would definately get the new super 62/24 LDP & have the best of both worlds... . Fast spool [around 1300], cooler egt's [200 less than 62/12] & more fun. Super turbos are the only choice for me & LDP just makes it that much better! :D

Yep thats the one Super Stock 62 with a stainless exhaust housing. What is the 24 part of your turbo?

That is the housing size & it is called the 24/62 LDP by the boys @ High Tech. I would get it... You won't regret it. Your setup is about the same as mine. 150 sticks, edge comp etc. I tow 7 - 9 ton everyday & I'm telling you... this turbo spools up faster from 10 psi to 45 psi than you would believe. I thought the 62/12 was fast, but this thing is twice that. I deal with Paul @ high tech... . just tell him to do the same turbo that he did for Jamie..... You will love it.
