Just wondering what everyone else thinks about the htt sp66 versus other large singles. I was using an h2c with a 17cm housing on my pulling truck. It had a 60mm inducer and 70mm exducer. It worked awsome once you built up boost but took forever to spool up. I then switched to an sp66 with a 14cm housing. It had a 66mm inducer and a 64mm exducer. Spoolup was awesome with my tight converter but the top end kinda sucked and I could never get the wheel speed I had before. Anyone else had this problem? I am now looking to trade for an IISPS66, hybrid hx-55 or an h2e. I don't think it makes any sense to build a turbo that has a smaller diameter exducer than inducer if you are looking to run higher rpms like me. That is why these other turbos appeal to me so much more. I think my sp66 would be better suited for someone that wants boost at under 3000 rpms.

I dont have any experience expect with stock turbo and my II SPS66 turbo. I have no complaints with this turbo. The turbo has done everything I expected and more. I don't tow anything heavy, so don't know if there would be any issues with that. Normal daily driving, road trips and all out 1/4 mile drag racing it performs great. Maybe a little slower to spool than stock, but I can sorta control that with power settings. When it lites about 12-15psi it jumps to 45+psi or more depending on settings and stays where it needs to be. My EGTs are no longer any concern while racing. HOT Juice on 180hp, EZ on Level 3, 12-15psi 4wd launch and never let off the throttle my EGTs hit about 1280*. I really like my turbo.

Isn't the Industrial Injections SP66 the same turbo as HTT's SP66? One guy leaves HTT and starts up a new company just across town... . Of course II won't agree. You'll get an answer like, 'Our turbo is great'. Wish I could help ya. I'd love to see pics of you truck and or turbo setup- downpipe etc.

I will post some pics here soon when I get my regular computer back. The Htt Sp66 is the same as the Industrial Injection Phat Shaft 66. The Super Phat Shaft 66 has a larger turbine wheel of 70mm and I believe the shaft is a hair thicker. You have to mill out the housing and do some other work to make it fit. My downpipe is actually an uppipe lol. Its a 4in chrome stack out the hood.

TDR gossip! He's just a shop guy! Brady has had that business over 20 years..... your just now hearing about it! BOTW, he started working on pumps ect in his teens.

I'm going to have an opinion here shortly lol. Actually, I already have one but will hold off a little longer on sharing. I can say the Industrial Injection 66 on my 2nd gen is not very good. I've been waiting for a 64 that we hope will be a better fit for the 2nd gen fueling curve for awhile and am hoping it comes on a little better down low. I'm not going to bad mouth the IIS guys yet because they are always very friendly and seem like genuinely good guys. On the other hand I'm getting a little impatient after weeks of not taking care of business as promised. Come on guys you have a great chance here to make a customer for life and get plenty of rave reviews if you do what you say you're going to do. Don't be just another BS vendor on TDR that once they have your money, you go to the back of the line.

i cant complain about my phaft shaft, it has done everything i thought and more (my fiance says the same, jk). all kidding aside this turbo has been awesome, i cant wait to throw some more go jiuce at it.

Awesome to get some real info -- I was really wondering why brett was telling me I should send in my SP66 to upgrade it to a SPS66... .

So what is the benefit of the larger exducer? Based upon Dzlpwer's posts, I would guess the 70mm exducer would mean better top end, But worse low end boost... . Does that sound correct?

HTT has a larger compressor wheel than the 66 now. It is some trial stages. I think there comes a point unless you go to a big exhaust housing and exhaust wheel that you will struggle to drive the from compressor. I know a lot of guys are running the sledpuller 66 for sledpulling and many for daily driving too. I really like mine, spools fantastic. I think they both have a good product, very similar, but heck you only can do som much to a charger, just seems that the II stuff is kinda spendy.

Try a 18 cm + with yr 66 now, sometimes its hard to have the best of both worlds with a big single , fast spool then top end (above factory rpms) is hard to get ESP if yr turning 4+k with a 12 to 14cm housing ,,it doesnt have the room , its just to tight of a space with all that air coming in

I got a 70mm and im dropping down to a 12cm untill next season when i can say by to the 3200 rpm limits :-laf

II SPS66 is on my wish list waiting for funding issues to be resolved. My guess is it will be a spring time project. I can't wait! :D

Also, for what its worth, the guys at II are flat out awesome. They will help anyone and don't care whos whatever you have. I am a customer for life just dealing with them in the preliminary shopping phase. Between that and how well they have treated my buddy Diesel Dude, I'm all in.

These big 66s must spool a lot better at sea level than they do a mile high lol. I doubt it. Hard to understand why people like these big lag pigs. They might make great pulling turbos and give bigger numbers on top but they ain't real fun on the street. If you think they are you may not know what it's like to drive a 500hp that comes on hard at 1600. I seriously doubt any of the 66s with a 14cm turbine side come on before 1900. I've got one and have driven another truck with one. I'm anxiously waiting the 64 that Shane @ IIS is building now. Sounds like he may have found some tweaks that will make this a much more fun turbo on the street with decent top end as well.

Well you can check out my signature, I can't hold my truck back when I am pulling over powers the brakes in 4 low at 1900 or so at 15-18 psi. My setup at 1600 rpm charger is lit and I am gone. I was really surprised at how fun this truck is on the street. I have seen the HX50 hybrid with the 15 cm equivalent housing and I was really skeptical about how well this charger would spool. Like I said 1900 the truck has 15-18 lbs of boost. I think it stars building boost about 1400-1500 or so and once it starts to get a few lbs it just lights. I think you would be surprised what 5000 ft does to the air density.
