Anybody done this to your 35? I have an opportunity to possibly buy the kit to convert my 35 to a stage 3. Any input would be appreciated. What all is involved to do the conversion or am I better off just buying a new hybrid? My turbo has been run pretty hard and sees 38 psi daily.

Your sig says you already have a dodgezilla. The HTT stage III is actually a slightly smaller comp wheel than the dodgezilla is. I think the dodgezilla is commonly reffered to as a 62mm, but mine seemed closer to 61mm (almost 61. 5mm).

I think the HTT III is a 60mm wheel.

I think for the price, the HTT III is a great bang for the buck if your hx35 is still in good shape. Throw a 14 or 16 housing on it and its a nice noticeable improvement over the stock 35. Not a drastic reduction in EGT, but more top end, I think quicker transient spool (I. E, 10psi-max boost), and nice sound.

I have a #0 and a #10. The #0 is too much fuel for the dodgezilla/14wg. the 10 is just about right. You can run it hard and not have to worry about egt. It also cleaned up the smoke quite a bit. all in all, im impressed with the dodgezilla. I had a 35/16 before and the DZ has more top end, spools quicker, less smoke, and sounds better. Granted, it costs more than a 16cm housing too though.

Ive read good and bad about the dodgezilla, so I had a hard time committing to it. I probably wouldnt have if I wouldnt have gotten such a good deal on it. But now I wouldnt hesitate to buy one. I love the instant spool and it hits really hard. Like a sledgehammer, and low, like 1600 rpm or so. Its nice to drive daily. And having ran a Laggier turbo (DD Jammer BB), I really appreciate the spool now.

All in all, I see no disadvantages in it over the stock 35/12. Its a nice turbo.

Edit: I just noticed the "Future mods" before dodgezilla. oops. I guess the info still pertains though.....

I believe HTT sends you everything you need, already done. The compressor housing is machined to accept the HX40 wheel. 35's and 40's use the same shaft.

Its then up to you to balance it. Or you can send them your turbo and they will assmeble it and balance it for a pretty good price (like 80$, + shipping).

I believe the parts are like $240.

For my stage 3 upgrade, I had to have the cartridge machined for the larger wheel. The stage 3 is a good upgrade, but might not be enough air for your fuel, depending on how and where you use your truck. I can easily peg my pyro at 1600 with my mods at about 5200 feet above sea level.

Wow your running 370's and a plate with a Stage III? I bet that does get hot!! I am at about 5200' as well where im at and I can get it hot with just a #0!!!!

What housing are you running?

I've been running a stage 3 upgrade for several years now. Yup, machining the center section is required. There is a counterbore that is maybe . 030" deep that needs the diameter opened up about . 125" more. Don't quite me on the dimensions as this is from memory. I did mine by mounting it on a lathe (center section only) and turning it. You can also mount it on a whirlly table under a Bridgeport to do the samething with a miller. There's no need to even remove the exhaust housing on this upgrade if your keeping it a 12cm unit. Mines run hard almost daily and regularly sees 44psi without a problem. Spool is instant and EGTs are... well... mostly in check. I can make it hot if I purposely try. It even worked towing a loaded car trailer with 370s and my valet 'on'. If you go this route make sure you get the oil return line gasket as it's not included with the kit. It goes between the center section and the return line. Also if you turn it on a lathe, use enough duct tape to not get a bath from the oil slinging out... Reassemble the front housing on the bench them mount the assembly to the exhaust housing. Adjust the boost elbow and enjoy... One more thing, I would think it would make a good top turbo for a twin kit...

I am running a slightly modified 12 cm housing. I opened up the divider between the two sides to allow the wastegate to vent all cylinders.

I think elevation plays a big factor in EGTs. At sea level, the truck runs pretty cool unless I try to get it hot. Up here, it gets hot even without a trailer.

I am in the slow (work and school get in the way) process of building a set of twins to replace the stage 3. The twins will be small, specifically matched to help me out at elevation.

Twins

I'm thinking of running a set of twins on my truck as well. I agree with vssman, the HTT Stage 3 sounds like it would work really well as a top turbo, feeding into a s400 or even a b2 (depending on what your trying to accomplish). I was thinking of running my stock 35 on top, but reading this post has made me consider using a HTT stage 3. Just my thoughts. -Buck

Im actually planning on doing twins with my dodgezilla. Using a B-2 on bottom.

gus (AFarmer) runs that setup, makes a bunch of power. I think he is running 11's on spray with that setup.
