Nothing - all connected all the time. With the transfer case lever I get instant 4WD.

Minimal here on my '07. I needed 4lo and the ability to install a smaller spare up front. My hubs were fine @ 61K but my U-joints were almost frozen. Passenger side bj's were badly worn.
The truck's had 2K on its back for the entire time.

Most report 1-2 mpg. I probably got 1 mpg. 4lo is great. Should not make a difference for running a smaller spare in the front, unless you put in a limited slip or locker. The spider gears eat up any differentiating between the two front tires.

No improvement on mpg., however tons of savings in maintaining and the ability to use 4 low in two wheel super awesome. I went with a Dayna Trac system with warn hubs on my 96, going to do it on my 12 if and when my front end goes.

2Low is easily achieved on the 2nd gen trucks with a normally open solenoid valve and a toggle switch in the cab. I teed off the vacuum line at the fire wall where it drops down above the transmission and ran vacuum line over to the passenger side corner of the engine compartment where I mounted the N.O. solenoid, came out the other side of the valve back along the firewall and down the top side of the trans to the switch on the TC as it is normally ran. The toggle switch is a tad delayed, if I dont give it about 5-10 seconds before grabbing the low side sometimes I will get 4 low rather than 2 low. Aside from that it works great and I've used it many times. I spent some money on a decent solenoid valve (around $35-$40) but I wanted a continuous duty cycle valve in case I need 2 low for an extended time or I forget to flip the toggle switch off when I go back to the high side.
