There was a tech article in an 4x4 & off-road or fourwheeler magazine a year or so back that showed the installation of a manual locking hub kit that Dynatrac made for the 2002 and older Rams with the Dana axles. Kit came with new, bigger diameter axleshafts, old-style (re-greasable!!) wheel bearings, spindles, etc. If I remember correctly, the kit moved the front wheels outboard a hair or two. Maybe the article is available still on the magazines' websites if you want to check them out. Also check out dynatrac.com - I think that site lists prices too.

I agree with Kurt and also wish that Dodge would at least offer the option of choosing manual hubs. Especially since automakers claim to be worried about fuel economy. While manual hubs may only slightly increase mileage. If you figured the fuel savings over 100,000 miles coupled with the high diesel fuel prices in some areas, it would be noticeable. KL
