I have a buddy who is a race car driver and the guy that built his transmission has offered to re-build my transmission using the "Hughes Premium Overhaul Race Kit Box with Kolene¨ Steels". With this rebuild kit, coupled with a TC and valvebody from either DTT, ATS, or Goerend, would this hold up to the task of my truck and last or is it a waste?

I tow about once or twice a month (total trailer weight about 9500 lbs), and daily drive my truck about 200 miles a day for work. The only other mods in the forseeable future is injectors and tapping the pump wire on my Edge Comp (Once my transmission is done).

Any insight is appreciated.

The only mods to My trany is A dunrite super single TC and A suncoast valvebody. I can not slip anything and I am running the mad smarty with 100 hp injectors and htt 62/12 turbo. before the smarty I had an edge comp tapped without slipping so I would say You should not have any problems with what You are looking at.

I am not a transmission pro but i called hughes about there kit and was told no hard parts . Have read alot about internal leaks if you have internal leaks the vb will do no good . but then again your trans may be ok with just that kit if you have a trans that has no clearence issues. if you do a pressure test and all are within 5 psi i think then your ok .

hope this helps
