question for some of you propane gurus. Had afriend install a bully dog propane kit on my 2002 HO. works great, but I have a humming noise now. IT gets louder when you rev it up. Its not that loud. Its just annnoying. IT hums even when the switch is off. Any help would be appreciated. thanks Rod

Not familiar with the Bully Dog setup - but wonder if the regulator flow might be adjusted too loose, and leaking past the diaphram - creating a "hum" as it vibrates? Listen close to the regulator and see if that seems to be the source. If so, try turning off the gas valve and see if the humming stops. (not a bad idea anyway!)

Gary. would it make the noise even if the switch is off? by the way I had the same setup on my 01 . NO noise, no problem. the only thing different thing on my 02 is a oil pressure unit on the oil filter and some kind of switch or solenoid under my dash.

My non-technical opinion is that the humming sound is nothing more than YOU humming with the sound of your engine. Stop breathing for just a second and see if the sound goes away :D

Sorry, I couldn't resist :)

I had a different brand propane setup on my '91 - so don't like to be too specific on the Bully Dog setup - but the setup I had used a flow solenoid that was designed to shut flow off completely when power was removed - but like anything else, they can fail - the simplest way to eliminate the regulator or propane flow as the culprit, is to just shut off the propane valve at the tank and see if the humming stops - it's hard to know if your noise might be a humming electrical device, like a flow solenoid, or purely mechanical, like a leaking diaphram... Of course, removing all power from the propane setup by pulling the fuse is a good idea as well...
