ALL forums, if you need to evacuate I have made arrangements with my work for 20 RV sites, full (30A) hookups. You can stay for $10 / day.

There is a 10,000' covered pavilion with concrete floor if anyone gets the bombing bug. You only have to cover the floor in case of oil spills.

Texas Hospitality !

That's what I like about First Gen Owners :D Y'all sure know how to take care of people, good on you Texas Diesel Oo.

Patrick.

It's gonna be a mess and think of all the refineries on the Texas Coast... Yikes, can you say $4 gallon?

It was on the local news that Rita was a Catagory 5 PLUS. It is actually 15MPH over a cat5 and expected to strengthen before it hits the coast. They said it will be a Catagory 1 hurricane when it passes over Austin on Saturday. A hurricane in Austin?? Thats a first, 40-80MPH expected wind speeds here.

We're filling up both trucks, spare gas cans for the generator, fresh water tanks in the two 5th wheels. Never know.

If any of you come as far as Alabama, I have 12 empty, full hookup sites available. I'm I hour from Mobile. There probably aren't any available in La. or Ms. 251-862-2670

I'm in New York, but I topped off today while it's still $3. 09 a gallon. With Rita churning through the Gulf, who knows what it's going to be next week.

I`m with you BHiggins, takin the truck to work tomorrow and filling her up, I can squeeze 2 1/2 weeks worth of commuting out of it if i have to. Godspeed to anyone in that neck of the woods, looks like it`s gonna be a mess.

Best wishes and Godspeed to all our Texas brothers about to weather the storm. I'm a Los Angeles City fireman, and as I'm typing this at 1630 hrs L. A. time, thursday, 3 guys from my station are just now leaving for division headquarters to form up urban search and rescue and swift water teams to pre-deploy to Texas. Many of the guys going just got back from 2 weeks in Louisiana/ Mississippi. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all... ... ... ... Kenny

It fair to say that the ENTIRE "congregation" here is thinking good thoughts and wishing all those affected the very best... . ok guy's put in a good word upstairs with the "MAN" for these folks... .

The 1st Gen church is pullin for ya'll... .

bob. .

edit: darn... I been 'hangin' with you guys so long I'm startin to git a Southern accent... . go figure ... ;):D

I live in NJ I need to evacuate (just on principle) ... ... . not for weather reasons though.

I will however be at the Valparaiso, Indiana car show tomorrow and the Naperville, Illinois car show Sunday. And then the dreaded drive back to NJ. Yes, I'm still in NJ and yes, I know the show starts in a little over 12 hours (8AM start) and its 12 hours to drive there. doh!

gotta run ... ... .....

1st gen dodged the bullet

That was a close call here in Galveston where my two 1st gens reside, I feel for the people in Beaumont/Port Arthur area they got hit pretty good, i boarded up my 1893 house up till the last minute and had to leave one truck in the garage at ground level while i had to scat in the other, that was a tough call when the weather service upgraded it to the 3rd strongest hurricane in history at one point and a direct hit at that strength would LEVEL the entire island, thank God it lost steam before making landfall and another 1st gen is still alive :D
