2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Hvac Fan

Okay a little help here I turned on my fan on the console and sounded normal in the middle of driving I hammered the fuel to get ahead of a idiot and then my fan sounded like a bicycle wheel with a baseball card in it. it was lounder and more pronounced the higher the fan speed was. I stopped and checked it was coming from under passenger side where the fan/wheel etc is, I drove it home went back out to check when I went to the store and now it doesnt do it . . is this a early warning or did the mouse find the exit... so what do you all think...

is it possible a leaf some how has fallen in the mouse cage?

I have read where debri can get into the mouse cage.

This is an easy fix. Just remove the three bolts that go vertical in the blower. The one in the rear of the motor will have to have a universal on the socket but it is doable. Just unplug wires and you have access to the blower wheel and the plenum. I've cleaned mine 3or 4 times. Leaves will get into it.

Thanks for all the input. the sound has not came back so I think it was gunk that is not broke in pieces. I will pull the cage out and inspect next warmer day.

I wouldn't put it off any longer than you have to. If something was hitting the fan, it's still in there. The only way out is if you pull it out.
