To members of the Turbo Diesel Register we regret to inform you of Nowel Thomas’s (HVAC) untimely passing this evening. As many of you knew from our other thread Nowel had a major brain hemorrhage that occurred on his left side of the brain that caused paralysis of his right side and also impaired his speech and finally left him in a coma. Nowel was on a ventilator and while in a coma the hemorrhage continued to spread to the right half of his brain. Due to his critical state, the doctors were reluctant to operate and he was put into a wait and see situation. Nowel’s condition continued to deteriorate today upon further testing it was determined that there was no brain function and was clinically pronounced deceased as of this late this evening.

At this time we are in the process of making arrangements for his services to take place in Half Moon Bay California in the near future. Details of this will follow within the next few days. We ask that if any of you wish to donate to Nowel’s trust fund, that this money would be used for his expenses.

If any of you have recently or know someone who has done business with Nowel and have not received your order and have paid for your order we ask that you contact Mike Crossley at -- email address removed -- with a electronic copy of your proof of purchase and these orders will be resolved as soon as possible; we ask for your patience and understanding in this matter as we have a great deal of his affairs to attend to.

Any vendors that were doing business with Nowel we ask that you contact Mike Crossley, Blair Pine or Chris Sutton as we are assisting Nowel’s sister in closing these matters.

We would like to convey Nowel’s sister Leanne’s thanks, love, and appreciation for all of the support that those of you have given. She will have a copy of all related threads in her possession. Again thank you and I am sorry for bearing such sad news.

For the past two weeks Nowel and I had been talking about alot of great things to come from the 24v motor. We had alot of great ideas and right now I'm just left stunned. I right this with real tears of sadness, I'll miss him so!

This is a very sad day for everyone that knew Nowel, And those that never had the chance to meet the nicest man I know. He was a blast to be around at the races and the shows. The show at Tulaire was the last time I saw him but not the last time I talked to him. For that was just a few short weeks ago. The Shows and Races will not be the same without him. Please let us Know when the services will be as I would like to come. Mike,Chris,Blair and Richard, Thanks for all the work you did to keep us up to date on his condition. My condolences to his Sister and Grandmother.

With deepest symphony, Mike

He will be missed beyond what words can say and words don't do this man justice to the kindness he showed to his friends and to any who would talk diesel with him---I'm deeply saddened by this, but we all know he's now runnin' times that even has GOD baffled---keep 'em smokin in the sky Nowel--your friend chris

Man now this is a bummer...

Come in off the road after a rough night fighting traffic & snow and boot up to see if there is any change and this is what I see. The TDR has lost a pioneer and a great person. No matter if you agreed or disagreed with his writings or his thoughts he will be missed. My family sends our condolences out to the family and I'll drop a donation out to them also.

Rest In Peace Nowel Thomas...

We will not say goodbye, rather will say so long,as we will all meet somewhere else on the Infinite #2 Highway a little later... ... ... .

Nowel is the single biggest reason that I ever bombed my truck. He sold me my first bombs and was always just a phone call away to help me with the installs. I never met him in person, but I still counted him as a friend. He will be missed.

Rest is peace Nowel.

Fare the well Nowel,

The world is going to be a lot colder place with out you .

We'll have to take a rain check on that dinner by the bay.

Until then, may God keep you.

Joe

very sad day...

Today is a very sad day.

One of the most influential individuals on the TDR and a major contributor to the sport of diesel performance has passed away. :(

May God watch over you Nowel and help your family and friends in their time of need and help them to begin their healing process.
