I have an 05 2500 CTD. No recent work done to the truck and it is STOCK!! Got in today and the A/C LED won't come on and neither the temp control or vent regulator work. Fan control does work. I've checked the under hood fuses and all looks good there. I've looked here at the archives and don't see my problem.

I removed panel and reseated the electrical connectors for the climate control panel. No change!

Is there another fuse panel that controls these functions?

Has anyone else had this problem?

EVERYTHING worked fine a few days ago!! :{

I have seen the control unit on the dash go bad. Also when your in the truck with it on, tilt the steering wheel up and down a few times and see if the a/c light flickers. If it does than your problem is in the main wire harness on the column.

I'm thinking you may be right about the control unit. Unless I have had 3 or 4 HVAC problems take place at the same time, this seems to be the only common element. I've read the service manuals diagnostics and you check the unit by replacing it. From the outside, it looks like a collection of a few switches but DC says it has in integral computer.

The only unusual thing is that there is no fault code. I would have expected for the system to pick up that failure... . ???

If you take the control unit out you can remove the screws in it and view the circuit board. There is some small screws that come out. thats also the way you get at the bulbs inside the control. Maybe something will show up burnt on the board and at least you will have an answer. Find a friend with a dodge truck and swap with him to check the control.
