Hvac Removal Question

I'm replacing my defrost blend door and lower housing on my hvac unit this weekend. Ive pretty much figured out the procedure from the Great Post here on TDR. My only question and concern is: When reconnecting the negative battery cables to test the hvac doors (prior to installing the steering colume and the dash back on) that the air bags could go off ? I'm thinking not, but wanted to make sure since the steering colume will still be down on seat. Thanks for future comments!
