Hi. I've been having AC heater fan troubles of it not working intermittently. I replaced the fan resistor as the original one has cracked badly but one of the wires in the plug that goes into the resistor has melted insulation. Any ideas on getting the female spade out of the plug? I will the install a new spade and splice it out on a short section of new wire, solder and heat shrink it together. I just can't seem to figure out yet the spade connection to the plug. Thanks for any advice. I'm installing a new heater fan also because I read a fan with wear with add high current to the resistor plug and cause wire meltdown. Thanks, Herb

As Ozy says there should be a repair kit. I'll look later on and see if I can get some part numbers for you. Gotta pile wood right now. Yee Haw!

Mike.

A while back there was a good factory web resource for service connectors in these situations. I'm sure the dealer has something. I know motorcraft has a nice huge color flip chart to look at.
