I noticed last week when I have the HVAC on the floor only setting, I still get air flow out of the defrost vent. Enough to wonder why my face getting hot when I was only trying to warm my feet. I reported this to the service tech when I dropped the truck off for some recalls and other warranty service. When I picked it up yesterday the paperwork noted that they "relearned A/C housing door actuators". I didn't think to check it on the way home last night but checked it today and nothing has changed. Still air flow from the defrost vent when on the floor only setting. Has anyone else noticed this with theirs? Guess I'm curious if this is "normal" or if I should make an issue of it.

Thanks for the response Learjet, it certainly could be completely normal for all I know. My 3/36 warranty is up at the end of the month, so I would like it addressed if it's not. I haven't driven the truck a whole lot this year and don't recall noticing it over the last few years.

I don't know why Dodge/Ram trucks have a disability when it comes to the HVAC system. My 3rd gen was awful. My 4th gen is much better, but my wife's Durango is light years ahead of the two. Her GT has a much better rear seat HVAC system, complete with rear foot and overhead vents and independent controls. Her GT also cools down the cab in half the time my 2016 Ram does.

And GM has everybody beat by a mile. I don’t understand why FCA can’t get it right on our trucks. They can’t even properly aim a defroster. When plowing snow the bottom 4 inches of my windshield becomes solid ice.
