I am looking for recommendations on Hwy tires (275 or 285, 17or 18inch) for my 2005 CTD. I don't need a real aggressive tread pattern as I am basically looking for ride quality. Thanks for any assistance.
I use Michelin LTX A/S tires exclusively. A bit pricey, however in this size range they have 3 steel plies. But when pulling my 5th wheel I figure that the price difference is just good insurance and worth it. This will make them ride slightly rougher than a 2-ply tire. I still get 65-70 thousand miles out of a set on my 2wd.
When you figure about 40 thousand miles on a cheep set I think that a PREMEMUM set of tires is cheaper over the long haul.

About a month ago Bridgestone came out with their A/T Revo in 8 ply and it's a top rated tire in every catagory. The tread is sweet to say the least and on the highway they ride and handle outstanding. You can see what they look like on Tire Rack - Your performance experts for tires and wheels
I got it because it will do everything I need beside it's a good drag tire with it's speed rating. Ck it out.
Also I was able to get Sam's to special order it, FYI.
