can anyone give me any info about exhaust housings for the hx35 i want to upgrade to dd1s or dd2 and am wondering if a 14 or 16cm housing would keep it cool. only for a driver not a tower. i want the kwick spool of the 35 but cooler temps. i just cant afford a new turbo. i would like to do this before i go with the dd1 or 2s. i would really appreciate the help. thanks guys. tad

Im running dd3's and comp w/o wire right now with a PDR35 and 14 wastegated housing

its a killer set up, you should have no problem if you are running an aftermarket air filter

do it :)

were could i get one and how expensive would it be? you can get one that bolts right on to the stock turbo right. i might have said it wrong in my first post. should i go with the 14 or 16 i dont want to loose any boost if i dont have to. i need some thecnical advice. i dont know what is offered or were to get it. what each does and so on. well i know what they do but how do they affect the boost, spool up and so on. thanks

The bigger the housing, the more lag you will have. But on the up side you will be able to flow more air. I'm not quite sure how much power the dd1s or dd2s add, but it is mild then go with the 14cm. If it is quite a bit, you could go with the 16cm and be on the safe side. A PDR-35 does help with your EGT's and spool up. It all depends on how much money you feel like spending. Usually the 16cm non-w is cheaper than the 14cm.

I have pretty much the same setup that you have. I am sure with your comp on 4/5 you are pretty hot with a Hx35 and 12cm housing. I had a PDR35 and added a 14cm housing which lowered EGT's about 50-75 degrees. I still could hit 1450 on the pyro in short order with the setup I just mentioned. Personally I think you will be wasting money by upgrading your housing. Losing 50-75 degrees wasn't worth the nearly 500 dollars for the 14cm wastegated housing. The 14cm non-wg housing is cheaper but you will be running boost in the 42-44 lb range which is out of the efficiency map for the Hx35. What you really need is a bigger turbo. I just purchased a Dodgezilla turbo and am running it with my 14cm wg housing. I am very pleased so far but still havn't tested it for very long on the high fuel setting. Boost was too low without modified boost elbow and too high with it. I am waiting on an adjustable boost elbow to keep pressure under 40 lbs. Hopefully this setup will get the job done. I could have bought a B-1 with the money I have spent on the Hx35 and different housings. Good luck.

2's + Comp on 5x5 +HX35/12 = 1600* real fast. With just 2's I could not get to 1200*, but turn the box on and expect to see high EGT's if you keep your foot in it too long. It sure spools fast and pulls good around town though. The 14 housing will help but not if the box is on the higher settings. Might think about a hx35/hx40 hybrid.
