The hx 35 and the hx 40 are popular. They are much the same. Many different housings and different compressor wheel sizes toi fit the individual requirements of the owner.

May also have chosen to remain with the H1C and purchase upgrades for same. You will have the same net result in the end.

HTT is a very popular vendor inwhich to visit and purchase products. I have also puchased (turbos) from PDR. HTT will have a website which youy'll surely want to visit and read up on the options. You'll learn more than you'd care to know. Trust me when I say that.

put it on w/ the 12cm housing and see how you like it... it'll be choked off slightly on the big end vs. the 18. 5, but you probably won't notice any power loss...

boost will come in much quicker, and if you pop the silencer ring out, it'll scream a lot more than that old H1C :)

There are quite a few of us running the 35's on a first gen. See my signature.

I'm happy with mine, boost comes on pretty fast but didn't see more than a couple of pounds of additional boost with it. I used the 16 housing on the H1C and switched it over to the HX-35.

The H1C's map is the middle to upper teens of boost for efficiency. The stock HX35 is rated into the mid 20's, however, with the addition of larger compressor wheels that can be extended into the mid 30's of boost psi.

Remember, "to make power you have to make boost". The HX35 is a later model turbo and there are many variations of it available so cost is a little less in some circumstances.

The 16cm hot side housing works well in most applications and is a compromise when towing and running lots of fuel. In a daily driver application a 12cm or 14 cm would work better and be a little less smoky but the drive pressure will get high fast if you are fueled up.

I ran a 35/12 and it was a great turbo for the street, but if you pods it will run alittle hot. I could build 50 lbs of hot air boost with it. I just installed a new super "B" on mine a I lost a little low end but wow my top end is so much better and way cooler. I can build 45lbs of cold air now. When I get my new dyno numbers I will post them with pics. :-laf :-laf :-laf
