Anyone out there running this setup on their first gen? I have a 14cm Banks and the oil seal at the back of the brass bearings or the bearings themselves are shot and leaking badly-considering the HX 35 upgrade. Running 22lbs boost now thinking I can get around thirty or maybe up to 35lbs before putttting the head gasket in jeopardy. any comments or feedback from people who have experience with the HX 35 would be greatly appreciated-Oh, also, will this new setup just drop right in? I have the Banks 3 1/2" down pipe on the truck right now. Thanks

I'm running a stock HX35 w/non-gated 16mc2 housing. The housings are interchangable so it will drop right into your 14. I only gained 2 or so psi from the H1C to the HX35. Your fueling level will determine the boost psi. The HX35 makes the boost a whole lot qiucker tho and flows a little more air. After I upgraded my transmission my H1C was surging like crazy. The HX35 curred that.

I have a PDR HX-35 that I bought off another TDR member (JR2), and I really like it. I already had a 16cm2 non-wastegated housing on my old turbo that I wanted to keep, and the combo works really nice.

My old turbo surged pretty bad too, and like Jay says the HX-35 took care of that problem.

I would highly recommend you call PDR and get one of their HX-35s, and keep your existing housing.

I have a PDR hx35 and I love it. I have a 12cm housing now with the wastegate set for 34psi boost. But I was getting 34 with the 16 also. It's just the 12 spools up faster.

Get one and never turn back.
