Hey guys, just zonning here and decided to ask one of those questions that is always in your head but never make it out. With an HX-40 what is the install procedure? I hear about a special down pipe, what is this and why is it different from a 35? Also, because I do hope to make one a part of my truck in the near future (loan, loan ,loan;) ), I have a JRE 4 inch exhaust on now, and will be putting in a Pacbrake, I know the Pac will have to go and a 4 inch remote brake will replace it (again loan, loan, loan:D ), but what will I have to do about the exhaust? Can I keep it or do I need a new part or adapter? Do you think the turbo should be upgraded first and then the fueling side? A clutch will also be in the future, but just trying to get some goals and priorities in line. Thanks!!!

SBC for the clutch and if you order the turbo from Piers. . if I remember correctly it comes with the down pipe. A little mod. to the 4" exhaust and a coupler to the new down pipe and you are good to go. .

Piece of cake. .

The reason there is a different downpipe is becasue the HX35 has a 3" outlet, whereas the HX40 has a 4" outlet. Your exhaust stays the same, just replaces the downipe with the new one.

If you are assembling your exhaust with the HX35, don't tighten the clamp to tight for the regular downpipe, that way you can easily take it apart when your HX40 arrives... better yet, use a band clamp to clamp this section together. That's what I did.

I'd say don't waste the money on a turbo mounted exhaust brake. You're gonna have to get rid of it when the HX40 arrives. Just get a 4" remote mount now instead of later.
