Does anyone know if an HX-40 off off a 8. 3l Cummins has the same exhaust flange as the the 5. 9 Cummins? Also, anyone have speculations on what size exhaust housing a HX40 from a 8. 3 might have? The seller of this turbo says it has a standard t04 exhaust flange on it, is this what I would need to bolt up to my 5. 9l? Besides a new downpipe is there anything else I will need? It is a wastegated turbo.

Thanks for your input everyone!

When you say 8.3 do you mean ISC?

The hx40 off of a ISC will bolt up to the ISB at least all I have seen, but the ( 8. 3 ) C mechanical has a much bigger turbo mounting flange not going to work for your 02. I just put a HX40 on mine from a ISC, only problem is were the waste gate acuator sits.

So since the turbo is off an ISC, what will I have to do to get it to work??? What did you have to swap out csevers?

Flange bolt spacing

The exhaust manifold to turbo exhaust housing bolt spacing on our ISB engine is 3-3/8" x 1-3/4".

The stock HX40 may have an exhaust housing with 18cm internal size, which will have a lot of lag when used on our engines. The 16cm housing is much better for our use. You need to check part numbers to be sure before you purchase.

Hope this helps, Greg L. The Noise Nazi
