Anybody know anything about HX 50 turbo chargers?

Are they any count for pulling? How big is the exhaust outlet? How many mm is the inducer? This should get the ice broken

Funny how the obscure turbo questions always pop up when there is one on ebay. :-laf



If you are speaking of an off the shelf HX50 then its probably got somewhere around a 64mm inducer and a pretty large turbine housing.

They will usually make boost into the 50 range... (boom)



As far as where your going to be truck pulling at, it would have been a good turbo about 5 years ago but these days it wont cut it.



Not to sound like a broken record or anything but the best off the shelf 2. 8 bolt on charger you can get is an Aurora 5000 from ATS.



There are some other choices out there also like the GT4294 or GT42102 but they will require an adapter or large mouth manifold and some other small mods to work.

HX50's are available in several different flavors I thought there was on close to 70mm inducer, I think you might have been able to get one with a 19cm or so turbine housing, but most were quite a bit bigger, but as the broken record mentioned, 5 years ago they were a hot ticket, but have been surpassed in reliability and performance.

You caught me on the ebay thing. :-laf Just curious. I know you don't get something for nothing, but I think the seller also had some cool fuzzy dice to go with it.
