Can I put a hx35 out of a 98 into my 03? If I can, will it fit and work? Reason why is because I only make 19psi(according to my bullydog outlook monitor) and I think I should be making more. I don't understand how the boost is controlled and why does the turbo sounds different than my 98? I love the chatter of my 98 turbo when I let off the accelerator and my 03 doesn't do that. I understand that my 98 is a totaly different monster than my 03, but it should perform better than what its doing now, I'm guessing anyways. Thanks in advance

The compressor housing and downpipe connections will be different.

Just in the middle of going through something similar with a used 3rd gen HTT 64/14 I bought, and sent to them to be rebuilt. HTT forgot to put the 2nd gen cover on the the compressor. The 3rd gen oulet is 1/4" diameter smaller, and sits up higher than the 2nd gen cover. They did swap the correct turbine housing, though. Hopefully have the new cover here this week.

Also, the oil drain line sits at a different angle. Probably all of the housing and center section will need to be re-clocked to fit.

I now have a HX35 and it came out of a bus with a 00' 24v Cummins. The bus had the engine in the rear which seemed kinda odd because blue birds have them in front. The manifold seems to be configured the same as my 03'. I really hope this works, I saw some things I may need to modify like the compressor hose. If anyone seen this done or has any knowlege I'm all ears. Thanks again.
