ok... . ive got a set of DD3's and a SB OFE sitting on my living room floor waiting to go in. i know my stock turbo is going to hate me and not let me use all the fuel im about to throw at it. if i had a ton of money id buy a B1..... but im wondering how laggy it would be to go to a non-wastgated 16 ex. housing? i live in the bay area so smoke is somewhat of a factor.

ive read a bunch of posts regarding houing sizes and it seems that it is not bad... but just how laggy is it going to be???

I noticed very little difference when upgrading to the 16 from the stock 12cm. I think you will like it and the EGTs do go up quite a bit slower. Dont know how to do this on a overvalved electronic marvel but on a correctly valved (12) engine you can adjust the AFC to allow quicker fueling and the lag is lessened.

I am in the same situation that you are in. I am running the comp box and a set of 275s. I can easily hit 1400 on the pyro with box set on 5x5. I would like to get into a set of EDM M-2s, but I know that my stock turbo would not allow me to use my box when it is turned up. I will also problably have to upgrade my clutch at this time as well ($1000). I dont want to be out the money on a new turbo ($1000 +). I was considering a 16cm housing. Will this get done what I want to do, or will I just be wasting more money in the long run? Where is a good place to talk to about the housing?

Thanks for the input.

sticks is right, give HT Turbo a call, they rock! I have a 16 housing on my 40/35 hybrid. Barely anymore lag than the HX35 12cm I had on it prior. I love this turbo!

if you look at the posts above yours you'll see that they are 24V. i also dont do a whole lot of towing. when i do it is only a 16' flatbed w/ a 3,800 lb. truggy straped to it. i live at sea level and when i tow i blast up Sierra passes to about 7,000 ft.
