Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) hx40 spool to slow for tst?

I have a good hx40 Im looking to use, but without any off boost fueling with the 40 be to slow to be a good daily with the tst?

with the stock hy35 it comeson fuel really well, and I dont want to give up to much bottom end, my trans is screaming for dear life with just the tst so Im not adding anything else untill I do the trans.

the 40 will work well, after the trans i would add maybe a set of small injectors and that will help it spool faster and will go nice with the box

yeah, after the trans I plan on 150's a van aaken and probably a sps64, trannies are expensive though :{ (and chrysler just put in a nice reman for free)

That 40 will be very noticibly slower to spool than an HX or HY. A set of injectors, along with a transmission, will certainly help that situation though.

how much boost is safe on a stock 40 anyway?

I just did a search and a WHOLE BUNCH of reading. the turbo I have here has an 8 blade compressor wheel, which if I read correctly is undesireable. it also has a hose connection on the outlet. maybe I will wait for another one

I would. Around 40lbs is probably safe - give or take a little.

run 2 boost gages (1 intake and 1 exhaust) and get your drive pressures to 1:1 at WOT... i wound say 40-45PSI
