my friend's got a 02 3/4 ton 6-speed 4x4 with an edge box and 100horsepower injectors. He just put on a brand new hx40 ''super turbo'' today and took it for a test drive and by 3rd gear around 2 grand he said that the egt was 1300 degrees and still climbing. He's got an intake and a 4'' exhaust.

when he had the stock turbo on he said he could stay in it longer. I guess lots of fuel+more air=more heat? i guess my question is what should he do to bring the egt down enough to be able to drive it? Thanks,

Will

p. s. what size exhaust housing is on a 96 5-speed and an 02 6-speed?

The 96, 5 speed had a 12cm exhaust housing.

From my experience with the bigger turbo like the HX40, EGT climbs higher than stock for the same condition, i. e. mid fueling stuff, & then levels off, unless there is TONS of fuel.
