In an effort to get lower egt's I switched from an HY to a HX 35 turbo. I figured the larger exhaust side would help a little. With the comp on 3 egt's will go past 1300 if I let it and on 5 I have about 5 seconds till its too hot. With the waste gate tied back I was seeing 40+ lbs boost so I put an adjustable elbow on it and the most I can get out of it is 23lbs or so and the temps went down a little but not much.

Any ideas.

Interesting... . I take you mean HY9 as in the Auto trans size turbo... you have almost the same setup as I do... Comp, with Blue chip cover, DD2's, HX35, boost elbow from Edge (non-adjustable), AFE Pro-Gaurd 7 and a DTT trans... I'm hard pressed at Comp setting 2 to get over 1100 degrees... and at 5/5 it take a while to get to 1250... I'm seeing a max boost of 32psi... I do have the 4. 10's and 285 tires which help spool up... but other than that I can't see why your temps are higher... I'll have to think about it a little more...

I Did The Same Thing With The Same Results. Close Your Boost Elbow All The Way Off And See If Boost Comes Up Higher. I Was Gonna Buy An Elbow Untill I Talked To A Few People Then I Just Plugged The Hole On The Turbo Housing And The Hose On The Turbo As Well Now I Get Around 35 Pounds Of Boost Can Still Warm It Up If I Really Hammer The Fuel.
