ok this is in the trailduster swap listed in my sig.

i am having trouble locating exactly where in the firewall i should mount the clutch hydraulics, both my donor trucks were autos and i am doing the swap with an nv4500, i am also using 2000+ hydraulics ... ...

the pedals i am using though are from a 70's truck with manual linkage ... ... .

i am stuck i dont know where to start, i dont want the throw to be too short when i push the clutch in and i dont have any references

whos got pictures/ and is willing to take some measurements for me

I'd recommend trying to find a pedal set up from a 1stGen manual truck. That way, the pedals are somewhat made for a hydraulic clutch, though maybe or maybe not yours.

They're actually a picture I saved from an ebay set that were on there a while back. I do have a set, but I'm not gonna turn loose of them, I may put a manual in my truck one day. Any fullsize stickshift Dodge truck from 88 to 93 has the same pedal assembly, not just the diesels.

the factory pedle will go right were the older truck has there wire junction block in the fire wall so you have to do some moving around

yeah looking at the pics i have got thats what it was looking like, i have no problem doing that, i am not using a single piece of the wire that was in this thing i plan to make my own harness

next question is about the hydraulics themselves i need to know if the hydraulics from a getrag and the hydraulics from a 2000 nv4500 have the same amount of travel in the ... . guess you call it the m/c plunger. b/c i plan to use the newer hydraulics from the nv4500

I'm in the same boat.

Here's what they look like

Hmm, I just picked up this set at my local junkyard. I didn't think to pull that bracket piece. Is it necessary or does it make the install easier?

I gave my donor's pedal assembly to a puller buddy of mine. He switched from 518 to a nv4500, using SBC's upgraded hydraulics. He ended up cutting off the little arm off the clutch pedal and welding it in a different location. He said it would've been just as easy to weld/fab a pedal he had from a gasser Dodge.

I would say yes you need the bracket piece, because it is what the clutch master cylinder locks into. The firewall just has a round hole, plus its only sheet metal. That bracket has the hole with the 4 notches needed to retain the master cylinder, plus its fairly heavy metal to keep from flexing.
