FBossow,

Any more information for the Guru's out there, mileage, other repairs in same area, temp sensitive, other noise triggers? And it helps to fill out your truck signature.

Good luck.

its a 2008 ram 2500 about 37000 miles on it and i have not replaced any other parts in that area... It just started doing the noise yesturday morning when i started it up...

Its most likely the lining inside the hose if its makes a hissing noise while driving and gets quiter when you turn or brake. Might aswell take advantage of the warrenty.

Use the search feature on this web site and search for Hydro Boost Noise. There are at least four threads on this subject for the 6. 7L engine.

I also have explained how the hose is made and what needs to be done to repair this hose and issue. I am a retired Hydraulic engine from Cat and dealt with hose issue for over 20 years there.

I would repair this myself since you are out of warranty and just buy the hose assembly form either the dealer or Napa. I believe this is not part of the 50,000 miles warranty for the Cummins engine or the emission warranty. This would be covered under the 3 year or 36,000 mile warranty from Chrysler which you have past.

No, do not reuse the liner from the failed hose assembly. Dodge may have redesigned the replacement hose assembly to eliminate that style of liner. The new hose assembly should be compatable as is and just a direct drop in replacement.

:-laf:-laf Yes in many cases the liner will be stuck in the hydro boost unit-pull it out before installing the new line.
