Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) hydro boost??

i believe i blew the oil line going to this is this just a booster for the power steering????

The hydroboost provides the power for power assist brakes instead of a vacuum chamber in many other models.

Check for prior posts - the hydroboost is like an open-center tractor hydraulic device with 'power beyond' - when you depress the brake it routes P/S pump pressure to aid braking, otherwise (brakes released) it routes the pressure on to the steering gear. Because it has this configuration you will find lower pressure returns BOTH from the hydroboost and from the steering gear:



Pump --->Hydroboost--->steering gear
