Anyone been ove I-30 from Texarkana to Little Rock and I-40 from Little Rock to Memphis lately. Just wondering if I-30 is still as rough as it was two years ago. I am going up into NW Mississippi this week end and that is probably the most direct route but hate to hit that rough road if it hasn't been repaired. bg

Just went up I-30 a couple of weeks ago - it's getting better, but there are several places where construction has it down to 1 lane. And there are still area where it's very "bouncy". Don't know about I-40E, but I-40W (LR to Conway) was as bad as ever.

The last 2 years that I've gone home (NE Ark) for Turkey Day, getting home was a nightmare with I-30 down to 1 lane and all of the Holiday traffic - 2 spots, a total of 12 miles, took me an hour and a half to get through them.

Been on I 40 twice in last 6 weeks. My head still feels like the little dog riding on the rear window area of El auto del Mexicanos! Bad as ever.

I-40

There are 17 different construction sites on I-40 that are repairing/replacing 200 miles of highway.

12 sites are between Ft. Smith and Little Rock. 5 sites are between Little Rock and Memphis, TN.

The parts they have repaired/replaced and are open are magnificent.

About 4 feet of asphalt underlay with two feet of concrete on top.
