I went to the dealership for a new IAT sensor and a buddie also tried to get one, his '99 has a different sensor than mine and the dealership doen't seem to understand why or can find the right one, It is smaller and takes a 5/8 to 3/4 socket, (not sure) to get it out not the larger on that my 'o2 takes con anyone tell me a part number or a more specific description, he's now been to 2 dealerships and no luck.

Thanks Jared

Definatly the IAT? That is a 19mm?

The MAP sensor is OFTEN confused with it. I just checked a '99 and compared it with my '01 and they were the same identical sensors.

My cummins part book shows Part # 3408346

I'm pretty sure it was the IAT sensor, because I took it out my self it is smaller than my '02. The truck maybe a 98. 5 but the title say's it is a 99. What could it be?

I have an IAT out of a 01 and it has been in a 98. 5 also... Part # on the sensore itself is 3408345.

Its just one number diff than Tool mans number... weird

Is it smaller? The truck is from Texas, if that makes a differance? Don't know why it would. But the thing is smaller and I'm pretty sure it is the IAT, because I took it off my self. Same wireing harness plug but smaller sensor. he inside looked just like mine.

Yeah, The thing is just smaller? What does the map sensor look like inside, and is thew plug the same, as the IAT on the 98. 5-99. Now you have me wondering?:(

Thanks for any help, Jared
