Gauges always ran shy of 190. It hits 190 and goes a little pass it at times then comes back down. I have noticed the truck hasn't been running like she used to and the fuel mileage is down. Any ideas? VP-44 tanking out on me? Thanx in advance.

Recent maintenance done? Possible bad fuel if it came on quick, fuel filter if it creeped up on ya. Any codes set? Lift pump pressure?

I have been thinking about chaning the filter again. I usually change it ever other oil change. I know I am bad, but no gauges. I don't want to tamper with anything until it is out of warranty. It looks like I am going to have to get them anyway.

Mine use to run @ straight up 190 all the time, after I put a few miles on the truck shes cooled 10 degrees constantly

I changed the fuel filter and it still flucuates. I took it out and ran it hard, 100mph and the temp climbed past 190 to about 200. As soon as i let off the gas it came back to normal. Maybe a weak thermostat?

Gary

The 180* thermostat is a 3967195 or the 190* is 3937171 I run the 180 in the summer and the 190 in late fall and all through the winter. The 180 just doesnt put enough heat in the cab for our winters.

I had similar problems with the same temps. Turned out the thermostat spring was not opening correctly. I would change the thermostat for safty. I did, and it solved my problem. :)
