So I have looked all over this forum and find all these threads on a back up camera but what I had found is that they turn on when you go into

reverse. So this is what I need a camera I can put on my 5th wheel on the back and I have to hook up my atv trailer and our bikes. I want to be able to watch them and see the trailer back there just incase something happens. Or a bike tips over for some stupid reason. Any ones out there that is on and is wireless. My 5th wheel is 32 feet back there so other trailer is behind that.

Thanks guys

I wired mine where anytime the key is in the "Run" position the camera circuit is powered instead of connecting to the backup lights.

I don't remember the name but I know off several people that have cameras in their horse trailers to monitor the horses. Search some of the equine forums. Like barrelhorseworld.com or horsecity.com.

The reason these cameras turn on in reverse is because either the hot wire or a sense wire (Pyle uses a green wire) is tapped into the backup lamp circuit. Because I have a cap over my pickup bed and have to look through 3 layers of glass I can't see much in the rear view mirror anyway. So I got a monitor which goes over the rear view mirror and wired the backup camera to stay on. Although I have to adjust to the visually wide angle and to the rapid reduction in size of vehicles as they are further behind me, I really like this system. I simply wired the hot wire to a constant hot circuit. If your monitor has two video inputs, do not wire the sense wire, especially if you are using the other video input.

Because I have a 2006 and have to be careful of the truck wiring I purchased a White Night Plug-N-Go Adapter (which I was going to use with the White Night anyways) from Genos and got my connections from that.

Incidentally, I have two cameras. The second is mounted to the rear of my Travel Trailer to assist me in backing in, and to get a better view of following traffic. My is wired, I used RCA plug type audio cable and made adapters for the ends wrapped in good quality electrical tape. I use reasonably waterproof spade connections for the removable connection at the truck.

Basically the same set-up I have EXCEPT I have a cap I can't see through so the rear view moirror is useless. So in this case I have my GPS (has video input and 7" screen) mounted on the rear view mirror two cameras, one each mounted on the top left and right side of headache rack, with the video inputs "y'd" together and going to the video input on the GPS. Power to the camers going to a SPDT switch mounted into the overhead console. Now it works like this, switch left left camera view, switch center (no power to either camera) GPS, switch right right camera view.

Sounds kinda complicated but actually it's a pretty easy set-up.
