Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) I am new and need power advise...;-)

I am getting my first Ram(-00, 2500 4x4 man. ) within a week, and need advise how to put in some more power... ! I live in Norway, and I also got a truck for my Dad (same, but automatic and needs NO upgrades... ).



I bought a Banks SS Monster exhaust, an a high-ram air intake, an aFe air filter kit and a Superchip programmer as well...



THEN i learned about TDR, and now I´m not so sure these upgrades;

1. Work together

2. Work well



Now; I want to blow black rubber smoke all over the local Toyotas, Mitsubishi, Nissan etc. , and show them what a REAL TRUCK looks like!



Can you help me make the best out of what I have bought, and make suggestions on what i should go for in addition? Next step so to speak. There is so much out there, and right now I am a bit confused... !

1st post Welcome!



You have got some work to install the exhaust and AFE. Many might say to get gages before you add more.



I would suggest you do a search on " order of bombing or modifications" and take your time. You will learn a lot just reading some of the posts.



We all have our own goals with these trucks, I'm and old man and want just enough power to tow a 10000# trailer in the mountans. Everyone has their own goals.

Your set up will be fun for awhile but you probably get shut down by a few Powerstrokes and Duramaxs. The Superchip will give a little power, but check the classifieds for say a Edge EZ box which you can probably put on with out gauges but you will need gauges for more upgrades Turbo, injectors. good luck and do your homework.

dont waste your time with an ez or something only 60 hp go with a comp or powermax box. wich ever you prefer. go with something that is adjustable that way you can set it like you want it. then go with a good set of injectors then probably a clutch because you will burn it out then a turbo and on and on and on there is no limit. actually it all depends on what you are going to use the truck for. every truck is different in needs. but first things first go with gauges that is mandatory for the first thing. i wish that i would have known about the tdr before i started my journey would have saved me a bundle.
