It's battery operated! What a wimp. Get a gas powered one, more fun-(meaning expensive!)

My buddy bought one, (gas) no gyro on it. He burned a gallon of fuel learning to fly, before he wouldn't crash bad. At 2oz to a flight. We tied 4ft wooden dowels in a X to the skis so it wouldn't flip over. Man! What a blast!

By the way, enjoy your toy! :D

I love those things! I've been wanting to get one ever since I flew my boss's. I used to have a . 30, and I was really surprised at how stable the little electric one was. Although I flew his in our hangar (not with the plane in it) so I'm not sure how well it'll do in a breeze. But I was able to drop right into figure-8s 6" off the ground after only about 15 seconds of hover time. I can't believe how well they handle (considering how light they are).

Isn't nose-in the most un-intuitive thing you've ever done? For me, I worked on it on the simulator for about a week and couldn't get it. Then one day about a month later I picked it back up and could do nose-in with no problem. Funny how the brain works...

Yes, it's electric! I had a nitro powered Raptor and had engine problems. It was fun, pretty stable. If I get another nitro it will be a 60 or 90. At altitude, 6000-9000 feet the larger engine in a smaller heli works well.

I went to electric for three reasons, one-tired of the engine mess, but that was due to that scenario alone, not all engines. Two-winter is coming, I can fly indoors or outside without ticking anyone off. Three-It is pretty stable but not like a larger bird. If I can master this (its set up for 3D) then I can fly a bigger one.

I have forward flight down to a degree, but not nose-in hovering or flying, still working on it. It is very tricky! I would get a sim but takes too much room on a laptop.

Ok, so it's R/C, sheesh, I'm not THAT rich!

It's fun so far, can hover, learning nose in and forward flight.

Haven't crashed it, but bought spare blades and an extra LiPo for more flight time!

That's cool, I have really wanted to get one just like that but there are so many out there and I have not had the time to research them, did you do much research is that a pretty good starter electric feature and reliability wise?

It is a great starter. There are others but more expensive, you buy them in kits, add motor, radio, etc. This one comes ready-to-fly out of the box. I got the Pro which is set up for 3D (stunts, upside down flight). The regular is fine and can be made to the Pro by adding cooling fins, symetrical blades, different motor, etc.

The Pro is $250, the standard is $210.

Oh man I've always wanted an RC helicopter. How long can it fly on one charge? Does it tell you when it is getting low on power so you can land it rather than crash and burn?

It's fun. It only flies 10 straight minutes on a 3-cell Li Po but can do twice the time on a 6-cell. I have two 3-cells, one on the heli, one on the charger, although a charge takes about an hour, the flying takes 10 minutes. It does not have a low-charge warning and you can't over discharge a Li Po or it will be ruined.
