2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission I can't get the brake rotor to separate from the front hub?

I've been working on trying to replace the front u-joints, axle seals, lower ball joints and right front hub. I got a hydraulic gear puller that pulled the hub off nicely, but I cannot get the hub to separate from the rotor. How on earth is this supposed to work? Please shed some light on this as I'm starting to get a little fustrated because this stuck rotor is holding up the rest of the process

You need to push the studs out then knock the rotor down off of the hub. At least thats how it was on my 97.

Yep, the studs go through the hub, then through the rotor. Because of their BITE on both, you won't get it apart until you bang out the studs.

Be sure all the surfaces are real clean and smooth before you press new studs back in. (I would buy new studs)

Rotor

Can the rotors on a 96 2500 4x4 be removed and reinstalled with out taking off the hub bearings?

it's all part of one big unfriendly unit. bearings pressed into hubs
