I can't seem to find Rotella T with "XLA"

What is XLA? I was on both the Rotella site and Shell Lubricants I I didn't find any mention of XLA. Maybe I overlooked it.

Here Ryan, http://www.albina.com/fuel/heavy.htm My understanding is that xla is a newer additive that is in all Rotella 15-40 now, I'm not sure whether there are old stocks before the xla that need to be used up or they just don't label the xla as such.

cooker, i saw the xla on a bottle of 15w40 a while back in my dad's garage. then illflem said it was the new additive. so, i'm on the hunt!!!!

Here is my guess:



The site illflem posted was dated March 4, 2001. What I'm thinking is the XLA is a "newer" additive and at the time it was introduced into the oil, they labeled the bottles as such. Now I'm guessing that the XLA is still in there they just no loner label the bottles.
