Air bag vs. helper springs?

12 volt plug

After all the years I have towed,I got the 5th wheel harness caught between the bed and the tailgate and ripped it out of the hitch pin box. Before I rewire it,I wanted to make sure that the plug in my bed which is Mopar's harness assembly reads like the following. The pin positions are as follows 1-Red,L/H turn,Brake light; 2-White,Grn; 3-Blue,electric brake; 4-Green,Running lights; 5-Black,Battery; 6-Brown,R/H Turn, brake light; 7-Yellow,Backup lights if equipted.

I have a Bergman/Mopar plug assembly, are you saying that they are all universal in wire position.I was taking these numbers and position from a Mopar installation video, because the hole mount was to small for the connector to fit through and had to be dis-assembled fed through and re pin,he was giving the pin postion and color and function. They now have a bigger hole due to a bigger flange assembly which allows for the connectors to fit through...

Yes, the 7-pin connector pin-out is standard as shown, unlike the 6-pin gooseneck connectors which often reverse the +12VDC and trailer brake leads. That's why you can plug any RV into any truck that's factory wired without having to rewire the 7-pin connector. Doesn't matter if it's a Pollak, Bargman, or any other plug or receptacle.

Got it.I think I was looking at this all wrong, nothing changed on the truck it was just the harness from the pin box that came loose from the receticle.I need the trailers wire diagram for the pin box to the harness.

And don't feel too bad about pulling out the wires. Been there, done that. bg

Yep, me too. Someone came over to talk to me while I was unhitching, and rather than be rude, I let him distract me from what I was doing (BIG mistake!). So, when he left, I drove out from under the 5th wheel with the 5th wheel umbilical still attached to the 7-pin receptacle in the bed. THAT cost me about 4 hours to repair the receptacle before I could leave.
