Off Roading i.f.s. swap out

To the point: Click this link and check out the Front Page News story(ies) where we are tracking the introduction of the 2025 Ram HD trucks.

Thanks, TDR Staff
can anybody tell me what all is involved and what kind of headaches to anticipate to tear out an 88 chevy IFS and put in an early 80's solid axle? My 88 is a 1 ton and the early 80's chevy part truck is a 3/4 so I think they would mate up well.

Thanks for the opinions

We've just done 3 of these in the past month, not really that hard of a job, just alot of elbow grease, but it will get expensive once you start getting into the steering, etc. , but the rear driveshaft should still work, and also you will need a ford front axle, but you probably already know that, we cut our own brackets with our CNC machine, but the ORU brackets look nice, a bit pricey, but thats alot of liability they have to pay for, but you should be happy with their product, from what i hear, but go to www.pirate4x4.com , several of the members on that forum have done this swap, and have alot of tech and pictures posted.....
