I found it I found it, got a HECK of a deal!

I was in the market to trade in my 04. 5 2500 for a 3500 SRW 6 speed before the new 07 6. 7's arrived. 6 speeds and SRW's in LONG BED are almost impossible!!! STUMBLED on one... . 2006 3500 SRW LWB 6 speed manual. . SLT, White, Grey interior, Wood trim, etc... I owned my trade free and clear and they gave me 19,000 for it and the new truck I got bought for 27,999!!! I only had to finance about 9,000 with taxes, Extended warranty, AND I got free oil changes for 2 yrs!! I am one happy happy camper!!! Gooseneck hitch goes in next week. .



THey drove it from Central Calif as a dealer trade ( Had 171 miles on it when I got it, and BOY did I use that against them!!!. .

My 04. 5 was basically identical to this new one. It was Silver, CHarcoal interior, SLT package just like the new one. The only differences I see is the new ones don't have the little light under the hood!!!!! ANd of course it had the NV5600 Trans, not the Gatrig (sp?). Thats about it, same motor, etc...

Actually my mileage was relatively high for an 04!! LOLOL I rodeo and use it as a commuter so I had approx 90,000 when I traded it. That was since April 04!!! Dealer tried to low ball me on the trade but I perserviered!!

You did well on your trade in. They would only give me 19K also with lower miles, Laramie package, 4X4, NV5600 transmission with all the fluids kept up. I didn't go for it, I still have it, I thought I could sell it on my own.

I dont understand dodge sometimes, my o6 has a underhood light

I think that the underhood light is part of a package such as the light group, go figure.

fyi-it's not a Getrag. It's a Mercedes built medium duty transmission. Make sure the fuel filter is a 7micron. Recent TSB states it's necessary.

Thanks!! Is the procedure for changing the Fuel filters on an o6 the same as an 04. 5???? I have 7 micron filters here I can put in if necessary!

Am I reading this right? Trade in value on 04. 5s is only $19k? That seems very low to me for a 2 1/2 year old truck. I haven't looked at Kelly Blue Book or anything, but that just doesn't sound right for a truck that started somewhere over $35k... ... as long as you're happy though.

I actually did BLUE BOOK it before I went to the dealership and the trade in Value was actually 16,000 that it listed and I think 19,000 private party as equipped. So It was a fair deal. Well, if it wasn't then I got what I got!LOLOLOL

I just got a simular "good deal" from Dodge (minus the trade) 06 2500 4X4 HD, Laramie,tow pkg,plow pkg,black,siries sat. radio,6 CD cngr,big tires, in other words the works. lists for $47. 9K got it for $43 and 0 % finance! Yahhoo!
